It was an incredible musical performance, but sadly it was Elton John's star-studded performance at Glastonbury to be the 'Rocketman' singer's final farewell.

Elton John captivated huge crowds at Glastonbury on Sunday night in his likely final UK show, delighting loyal fans but disappointing others who expected a guest appearance.

The Rocketman Finally Announces His Split at Glastonbury Concert

The flamboyant British singer's performance followed two days of sunshine at the famous music festival in southwest England, where tens of thousands of fans listened to Guns N' Roses, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Lizzo, Lewis Capaldi, and others.

"Oh, wow. I never thought I would ever play Glastonbury. And here I am," said John, dressed in a glittering gold jacket and rose-colored glasses, as he made his first appearance at Worthy Farm.

"It's a very special and emotional night for me because it's probably my last show in the UK and the UK."

She welcomed four guests on various stages of her show: singers Jacob Lusk, Stephen Sanchez, and Rina Sawayama; and Brandon Flowers of the rock band The Killers, with whom John performed "Tiny Dancer" before a rousing audience.

Some fans are expecting more star power after last year's Glastonbury, where Paul McCartney was joined on the Pyramid stage by surprise guests Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl.

"As a fan of Elton, I think he's great, but maybe his guests could be bigger," said Bex Whiting, 35, who wore a sparkling rainbow-colored jacket in tribute to John's trademark look.

"I hate to say that because she champions some real local people, like Rina Sawayama. But I think there's a lot of talk in the crowd that it's going to be Britney or Eminem or big names."

John, 76, is nearing the end of his final tour, in which Glastonbury was his last British show.

"I want to thank you all for dressing up in your costumes, glasses, and clothes," he told the sea of people before him, punctuated by many people in glittering clothes and glasses.

"I want to thank you also for the 52 years of incredible love and loyalty you have shown me. It was an amazing trip, and I had the best time, the best time."

Hopefully the news of "Elton John's star-studded Glastonbury performance being the Rocketman singer's final farewell" doesn't become truly a farewell and John still composes and sings his best songs later.
