Hailstorm hits music concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre 7 hospitalized, 80 to 90 injured. The powerful hailstorm hit concertgoers at Louis Tomlinson's performance in Colorado, United States (US) on Wednesday night local time. Nearly 100 people were injured, including at least seven who were taken to hospital.

Fans of the British singer-songwriter were forced to flee for cover as massive hailstones rained down on Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, an open venue about 10 miles west of Denver.

The storm forced the show to be canceled.

"No doubt it's scarier than a horror movie," wrote one Twitter user, sharing a video of floodwaters hitting an outer staircase covered by what appeared to be hail.

Various videos of hail falling on people as they scramble to save themselves, one social media user wrote: "Horrible experience."

"What are you?" a voice can be heard asking as hail falls.

Another social media user shared a photo of what appeared to be huge hail drops, saying: "It's a bad picture but this is how big the hail is falling. I was covered in bruises on my back."

"I can't take refuge &; it just welcomes & compliments me &; I can't see anything," wrote another social media user. "It was the scariest experience of my life."

The footage could not immediately be verified by NBC News.

The West Metro Fire Department said at least seven people were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

 A total of 80 to 90 people were treated at the scene, the Fire Department said. "Injuries include cuts and fractures," the statement continued.

The department said in the early hours of Thursday that sporadic hail was still falling in the area after authorities responded.

Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for the region, with some areas facing hail the size of golf balls, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Tomlinson said that he was devastated by tonight's show.

"Hope everything is okay, I'll be back!" he exclaimed.

"Although we didn't play the show, I feel all your passion! Sending love to you all!" the musician tweeted.

Red Rocks Park initially said that Tomlinson's show would be delayed due to weather so urged concertgoers to "please seek shelter in your vehicle".

It later said the show was officially postponed.

"Please safely exit the amphitheater – we will get more information for ticket holders soon," the venue said in a tweet.
