Hoobastank's "The Reason" Hits 1 Billion Views on YouTube

Hoobastank officially became a member of the Billion Views Club, this is because "The Reason" Hoobastank crossed 1 billion views on YouTube. The 2004 song just reached 1 billion views on Monday (8/21/2023) on YouTube.

The achievement was shared on Hoobastank's Instagram page which was uploaded on the same day local time.

One Billion Views An Incredible Hoobastank Achievement

In the post, it was written that they did not expect the song "The Reason" to be so long-lived and have such a long connection with listeners and fans.

"We hope it continues to reach communities, both old and new, in the years to come. One billion views is amazing. To the next billion. Thank you all. All of you," Hoobastank's Instagram post read.

"The Reason" was released in 2004 as the second single from Hoobastank's second album of the same name. The song became the group's first and only top-five hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song managed to spend a total of 38 weeks on the charts and peaked at No. 2 on an all-genre tally. The song also reached No. 1 on Alternative Airplay.

The video clip, featuring current members Doug Robb, Chris Hesse, Dan Estrin, and original bassist Markku Lappalainen, tells the story of a woman who is constantly hit by a car. Each time the woman was hit, the members of the group tried various tactics to prevent the traumatic incident from happening again, until finally, she was able to get up and leave unharmed as a result of the incident.
