Katharine McPhee cancels 2 shows in Asia amid 'tragedy' in her and husband David Foster's family". The concert will be held in Jakarta on August 12.

In a social media post on Friday (11/8), Katharine, who is a graduate and protégé of David Foster on American Idol, gave a message to her fans in Jakarta.

"The fans in Jakarta are dearest. It is with a heavy heart that I announce I have to miss our final two shows in Asia," said Katharine McPhee.

"David and I had a tragedy in our family and at least one of us had to go back home," she continued.
"Please know how much I feel sorry and how much I hope to come back one day and perform for all of you," Katharine said.

David Foster was previously scheduled to perform on the Hitman David Foster and Friends Asia 2023 tour on August 12 at the Sentul International Convention Center.
On the tour, he brought Katharine McPhee who is also his wife, Peabo Bryson, Michael Bolton, Loren Allred, and as a guest star there is Raisa.
David Foster's concert in Jakarta lasted two days, on August 11 and 12. The August 11 event is for private concerts, and the August 12 event is for the public.
With this announcement, Katharine McPhee missed her first show in front of the Indonesian public.
The couple married in June 2019 after their first meeting in 2006. At that time, Foster became a mentor to McPhee who became a finalist for the fifth season of American Idol.
Katherine McPhee then came out second in the season, losing to Taylor Hicks. However, McPhee was recruited by Foster to perform in his David Foster & Friends special in 2008.
Foster is known to have fathered Sara, 40, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34, from his marriage to Rebecca Dyer. He also has daughters Allison, 50, and Amy, 47, from a previous relationship.
With Katharine McPhee, David Foster got a son back in 2021. He received the child when he reached the age of 71 years.
