West Ham vs Chelsea: 3-1

What's up with the Premier League 2023/2024? Interesting news this morning in the match, "West Ham vs Chelsea: 3-1" and Chelsea still cannot win in the 2023/2024 Premier League.

In the second-week match held at the London Olympic Stadium, West Ham took the lead through Nayef Aguerd's goal before being equalized by Carney Chukwuemeka.

Two goals were scored by West Ham in the second half from Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta. Even though West Ham has lost Aguerd who was red-carded.

The additional three points leave West Ham sixth in the Premier League table with four points, while Chelsea are in 14th place with one point.

The course of the match "West Ham vs Chelsea"

West Ham took the initiative in attack from the first minute to put pressure on Chelsea. In the sixth minute, West Ham had a chance to score through Bruce Bowen but the ball was saved by Robert Sanchez.

From there, a perfectly executed corner kick by James Ward-Prowse was born to Nayef Aguerd against Robert Sanchez. West Ham lead 1-0.

After taking the lead, West Ham lost control of the game and made Chelsea easily have the ball, to build an attack. Chelsea almost got a penalty when Nicolas Jackson was brought down by Alphonse Areola in the 10th minute.

However, VAR disallowed it because Jackson was already caught offside when receiving Enzo Fernandez's through pass. Chelsea continued to pound West Ham's defense in search of an equalizer.

Raheem Sterling's acceleration from the wings made West Ham's backline troublesome. Not to mention that they also have to deal with Jackson's agility and Enzo Fernandez's measured passes.

Chelsea could level the score in the 28th minute through Carney Chukwuemeka. Kurt Zouma failed to throw the ball away well as Chelsea attacked and fell at the feet of Chukwuemeka, who immediately fired a curling shot to the far post of Areola's goal.

Chelsea were awarded a penalty in the 42nd minute when Tomas Soucek had to foul Sterling who stabbed into the 16-yard area. Unfortunately, Enzo couldn't do his job well because Areola could read the direction of the kick.

Chelsea continued to pound West Ham until injury time. In the third minute, Sterling again made a stab from the right side and released a pull pass that was met by Chilwell's shot, which could be blocked. The 1-1 score closed the first half of West Ham vs Chelsea.

Chelsea brought on Mykhailo Mudryk in place of the injured Chukwuemeka late in the first half. Chelsea, who tried to press West Ham, conceded again in the 53rd minute.

A long ball from the West Ham defence released by James Ward-Prowse found Michail Antonio who ran behind the Chelsea defence. After subduing Axel Disasi, Antonio shot into the lower left corner of Sanchez's goal.

Chelsea then brought down the Premier League's most expensive player Moises Caicedo in the 61st minute. Caicedo immediately got a chance shortly after, but his shot bounced away.

West Ham played with 10 men after Aguerd was shown a second yellow card in the 67th minute for a tackle on Jackson. But, Chelsea could not maximize the advantage in the number of players.

West Ham was able to play solidly so it was troublesome for Chelsea to create chances. West Ham almost scored from Pablo Fornals' 91st-minute strike into a corner, but Sanchez denied it.

Likewise, Noni Madueke's chance in the 93rd minute hit a West Ham defender and made Areola have to struggle to deny it.

West Ham sealed a 3-1 win late in injury time when Moises Caicedo fouled Emerson Palmieri in the box. Lucas Paqueta's execution easily outwitted Sanchez.
