"Tonight, the First Lady tested positive for Covid-19. Currently, he feels mild symptoms of Covid-19. He will be quarantining at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware," Jill spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander said in a statement.
President Joe Biden has tested negative for Covid-19
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that her husband, President Joe Biden, who is now 80 years old, tested negative for Covid-19.
The White House confirmed no change in the president's schedule. The US presidential office also said no health protocols have changed as a result of this news.
Jill Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 as her husband faces a packed domestic and foreign agenda ranging from Labor Day speeches to the G20 summit in India on Thursday this week.

In the summer of August, Jill Biden also tested positive for Covid-19 while on vacation in South Carolina. Meanwhile, Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 in July.
Both experienced Covid-19 retransmission or rebound Covid-19 cases after being treated using Paxlovid, according to CNN.
Jill Biden's COVID-19 diagnosis comes amid renewed concerns about the development of COVID-19, which is just approaching its fourth season since the virus emerged and triggered the pandemic in late 2019.
US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data at the beginning of the summer showed a slight increase in hospital admissions, emergency department visits, and positive COVID-19 test results, although not as high as last summer.
