Software and hardware makers based on artificial intelligence (AI) from the United States, Humane launched its latest AI product, namely Humane Ai Pin, a wearable replacement for smartphones.
This product is not ordinary, this tiny product named Ai Pin is a wearable device to replace smartphones, which can be paired with clothes, shirts, and so on.
Small box-shaped devices that do not have a screen are claimed to replace the functions and tasks of smartphones.
Ai Pin is claimed to be used to make phone calls, send SMS, take photos and videos, listen to music, navigate while on the go, and so on.

These various interests can be done by giving commands (queries) to AI pins that are equipped with microphones, similar to the use of Google Assistant services on Google Nest, Siri on HomePod, Alexa on Amazon Echo, and the like.
Users of this device do not need to say opening phrases such as "OK, Google" or "Hey, Siri" to summon the digital assistant in the Ai Pin, but only press the touch area (touchpad), while saying what they want to do.
Later, the reply sound from Ai Pin will come from the speaker embedded in the device. In addition to the microphone, voice commands can also be received by various audio devices connected to Ai Pin via Bluetooth.
In addition to ordinary voice commands, Ai Pin is also claimed to be able to translate other people's voices into a language we understand, summarize all the information we want to search or read out incoming articles and SMS.
Humane Ai Pin Has no screen
As mentioned above, Ai Pin was created as a replacement for smartphones. However, this true device does not have a screen like a smartphone. So, how does this wearable device become a substitute for everyday mobile phones?

Humane said that the screen in this device is replaced with a module that can project images via laser technology.
With this, Ai Pin can project images, such as showing who is calling or the content of a text message, onto a solid surface in front of it (e.g. the palm of a hand).
To take pictures and record videos, Ai Pin relies on an ultrawide field-of-view camera whose resolution is unknown.
When recording video or audio, the indicator light on this device flashes, so the user knows that the device is performing the task it is told.
Other indicator lights can blink to notify users when a notification comes in, such as an SMS or phone call.
Use Snapdragon chips
To run all these operations, Ai Pin is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon chip. It is not mentioned what the model is, but this chip is claimed to be able to execute a variety of user commands nimbly in seconds.
Humane is also working with various partners, such as Microsoft, T-Mobile, Google, OpenAI, Slack, Tidal, and others to improve the digital assistant experience on these wearable devices.
To be able to turn on all day, Ai Pin, which is equipped with a battery, can also rely on another accessory in the form of a "Battery Booster". This magnet-like accessory also functions as a tool that can attach an Ai Pin to the user's clothes.
All data recorded, retrieved, and recorded with Ai Pin can be managed through the Humane Center platform. Humane did not mention whether this platform is an application or a web page, but clearly, this platform seems to be accessible on a computer (PC).
In the US market, the Humane Ai Pin is available in three color variants, namely Eclipse, Equinox, and Lunar, (Techradar), Saturday (11/11/2023).
This wearable device can be ordered starting November 16, 2023, for 699 US dollars.
In addition to this price, users also have to pay 24 US dollars per month to enjoy a variety of functions and services offered by this AI-laden wearable device.
