The public didn't know it until Britney's sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, revealed it on 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' recently.

Grammy Awards go to Christina Aguilera with the single 'What A Girl Wants'

"Want to hear something embarrassing that ever happened?" said Jamie to Sam Thompson, his reality partner on the reality show, as quoted by Page Six.

Jamie then brought up Britney Spears' first Grammy nomination in 2000. In the 'Best New Artist' category, her name is side by side with Christina Aguilera.

"It's related to my brother. At that time he was preparing to get his first Grammy. He's competing with Christina," the 32-year-old said.

According to Jamie, Britney, who suddenly became famous after launching her first song, 'Baby One More Time' was very confident that she would win at that time. Even MTV cameras were ready at Britney's family home to record the moment of her victory celebration.

However, the award went to Christina Aguilera thanks to the single 'What A Girl Wants'.

"Christina won it. We remember Christina was very talented, but that year, to be honest, Britney Britney shined more like ever."

Losing to Christina turned out to be one of the bitterest experiences of Britney's career.

"He didn't want to come to the Grammys anymore. Britney is so heartbroken that her whole life has been dedicated to winning that award," Jamie admitted.

Despite losing her first nomination, Britney was finally able to taste the victory at the 2005 Grammy Awards. Her hit 'Toxic' was named Best Dance Recording. Throughout her career, Britney has been nominated for a Grammy eight times.
