The Palau archipelago consists of more than 500 islands. In 1994, Palau became independent from the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands administered by the United States.

In Palau, the islands are called Belau which comes from the word Beluu with the meaning 'Kampung'. The word Palau also comes from Aibebelau which means 'indirect reply', this is related to the Palau creation myth.

Having a very rich sea, Palau lives on marine tourism. Palau also has a stingless jellyfish lake. The area is called Jellyfish Lake.

The beaches are beautiful, the sea sand is as white as flour. The sea water is as clear as glass, there need to dive, and corals and beautiful fish are visible from the surface.

Palau even has many islands formed from coral or limestone. These islands are declared UNESCO World Heritage sites.

To maintain the sustainability of nature, Palau has many rules for tourists who come. One of the most famous is the Palau Pledge.

Tourists who come must sign a promise stamp on their passport. The content is, that tourists must promise to behave well and leave nothing but footprints.

Then there's Palau's Ol'alau, the world's first initiative to make tourists responsible for tourism. In essence, all policies lead to sustainable tourism.

Behind Palau's strict tourism regulations, this country has a 'weakness' in the military field. This island country has no army!

Quoted from CNBC, Palau and the US have an agreement on state security, namely the Compact of Free Associaton (COFA). Under the treaty, the US is responsible for Palau's security. In return, the U.S. gave U.S. troops access to enter there at any time.

COFA also allows Palauans to serve in the U.S. armed forces. Anyway, Palau only needs to focus on protecting nature.

For daily life, the government established a police bureau, a public security bureau, and maritime law enforcement. Internal security is carried out by police duties and 30 officers from the Maritime Surveillance Unit.

Until recently, Palau was famous for being as peaceful as heaven. Hopefully this information on the beauty of "Palau, Beautiful Island, World Tourist Paradise" makes you interested in coming and enjoying the beauty of Palau.
