Academy Award-nominated actor Harrison Ford is being recalled as a smart archaeologist one last time in this film's adventure.
Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny" is set in 1969 New York City
Indiana Jones, commonly called Indy, has taught as a professor of archaeology at Hunter College and is poised to retire in his modest apartment. An impromptu visit from his daughter, Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), changes Indy's plans for retirement.
Helena searches for an artifact that Indy's father entrusted to Indy, namely the famous Archimedes Dial, a device that supposedly has the power to find cracks in time, allowing people to trace to the past or into the future.

Indy's longtime nemesis, Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi, now works as a physicist in the U.S. space program and has plans for Dial through a gruesome scheme that could warp the course of world history.
"Indiana Jones is a character that always surprises us. He can be selfish or empathetic. He was also very brave, but at some point in his life, he became a coward," James Mangold said.
Mangold also explained that Indiana Jones' very human character was shown with Harrison Ford's extraordinary performance.
"I think all his eccentricities and anxieties and weaknesses are part of his appeal. But, he does have superpowers, and he's very lucky."
In keeping with the cast's and filmmakers' desire to keep trying to honor the character, they also see the importance of bringing something interesting and new to the audience.
One of them is to make sure Indy's character is the same age as Harrison Ford who was 79 years old at the time of filming. So, they made the film in the late 1960s, an era when heroes like Indiana Jones were going on adventures in the 1930s and '40s.
This approach is very much in line with Ford's view of his understanding of the Indiana Jones character.
"We don't avoid the fact that Indy is 40 years older than the first time we told her story. We face the challenges he faces. From there, we brought real humanity and warmth into the figure of Indiana Jones," Ford explained.
"Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny" is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has composed music for every Indy adventure since "Raiders of the Lost Ark," returns to compose the music.
Meanwhile, John Rhys-Davies returns as Sallah, Indy's best friend. Also joining the film are Antonio Banderas, Karen Allen, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Olivier Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen.
