This Pizza Restaurant in New Zealand Offers Unique Deals: Buy Now, Pay When Customers Die

The New Zealand-based pizza chain offers customers an unusual promo: "Buy now, pay when you die."

Hell Pizza announced the "AfterLife Pay" promotion inspired by the "buy now, pay later" scheme adopted by some New Zealand businesses.

"We're seeing more and more people using this scheme to buy essential items like food, and we think this goes too far when you ask fast food restaurants like ours to offer that," the company said.

"People here are still lagging in their payments and 10.5% of loans in New Zealand are in arrears," Hell Pizza CEO Ben Cumming said on the company's website.

The pizzeria said 666 customers in New Zealand and 666 customers in Australia would be selected for the AfterLife Pay program.

They can defer pizza payments until the customer dies.

"Those elected will be invited to sign tangible amendments to their wills, allowing their pizza fees to be collected upon death. No interest or fees apply, and the agreement is legally binding," the website says.
