24 passengers die in bus crash in northern Senegal
A bus crashed, leaving 24 passengers dead in a bus crash in northern Senegal.

As reported by AFP, Senegalese Interior Minister Antoine Felix Abdoulaye Diome said that the accident occurred at 07.40 local time, Wednesday (07/26/2023). The bus crashed near the village of Dielerlou Syll, Louga.
The cause of the Accident is Estimated to be Bus Derailment
At the semi-arid crash site, the wreckage of the bus was seen lying on the side of the road. Passenger belongings were also seen strewn around it, an AFP reporter reported.

The bus was coming from a city in the north of the country. The bus was allegedly carrying excess passengers, a total of 76 passengers, which was supposed to be a maximum of 60 passengers.
Speaking at a news conference, a member of the fire department said the bus skidded and then overturned, with all four tires in the air.
Antoine said injured passengers were evacuated to hospitals in the city of Louga and the city of Saint-Louis.
