Bautista Achieves Fastest Lap Record in British WSBK Race 1
Alvaro Bautista (Aruba. it Ducati) again proved his dominance in the World Superbike (WSBK) championship this season, by winning the championship title in Race 1 of the British WSBK, at the Donington Park Circuit, Saturday (07/01/2023) local time.

Bautista's win was his eleventh in a row in the 2023 season and broke a new fastest lap record with a time of 1 minute 26.55 seconds.
Bautista competes with two other riders
The Spaniard was neck-and-neck with two other riders, Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon) and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing), who stood on the podium with times of 3.718 seconds and 6.115 seconds respectively from the race leader.

The three riders called the "Titanic Trio," repeated their meeting on the highest podium. The trio switched positions several times between Lap 6 and Lap 9 with all three taking turns to lead the race before Bautista moved on to overtake Razgatlioglu to return to first position.
In addition, Bautista also extended the lead in the standings to 91 points over Razgatlioglu. His winning streak has reached 11 races, equalling Rea's longest streak in 2018 and his in 2019.
Meanwhile, the top six of Race 1 of the British WSBK were filled by Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing) with a time difference of 7.855 seconds; Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha Prometeon) who is too 10.738 seconds; and Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing) with a gap of 11.143 seconds from Bautista.
For information, the British Donington Park Circuit is the host of the sixth round of the WSBK championship this season and will roll until Sunday (07/02/2023) today. The next round will continue in Italy, on Friday-Sunday (14-16/7/2023).
