Max Verstappen, Oracle Red Bull Racing driver, won the pole in qualifying for the 2023 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix (GP), at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit on Friday (07/28/2023).
Despite dropping five positions, Max Verstappen still set the fastest time
However, it is Scuderia Ferrari's Charles Leclrec who will start from the pole position in the 2023 Belgian GP session, as Max Verstapen will have to drop five positions after being penalized for making gearbox changes beyond the allocation that has been set. The decrease in position is due to the rule that each rider is only allowed to change his gearbox four times per season.
