Deschamps announced his squad for the Euro qualifiers against the Netherlands, and a friendly with Scotland shortly.
Deschamps is confident Mbappe will bounce back
Deschamps also said Mbappe has struggled this season despite scoring seven goals in Ligue 1 for Paris St. Germain (PSG).
Previously, PSG was also defeated 1-4 by Newcastle United in the Champions League, on Wednesday (4/10/2023), where Mbappe had only a small influence on the match at St James' Park.

According to Deschamps, "He's not at his best, just like the results his club had. Obviously, with everything he's capable of doing and his influence, it's had a big impact on his team."
The Frenchman said this was not the first or the last time Mbappe had a bad period. According to him, this is likely because the striker did not make summer preparations as usual.
However, Deschamps is confident Mbappe will bounce back.
"But I'm not worried about him and his competitive spirit. I know him well. He must not be satisfied at this time. Even when he's doing well, he wants to do better," he said.
