Gabriel Martinelli's shot hit Nathan Ake and outwitted Ederson Moraes. It became the only goal in this game.
With this result, Arsenal climbed to second place with 20 points, losing a goal to Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester City dropped to third place with 18 points after two consecutive defeats.

Manchester City almost opened the lead after just five minutes. Phil Foden's corner was struck by Josko Gvardiol at the far post and headed into the net. Declan Rice swept in front of the line!
Manchester City pressed again and Erling Haaland's header fell to the feet of Nathan Ake who faced the goalkeeper. But the feed soared.

Arsenal tried to control the game, but Manchester City's pressing was troublesome. They almost conceded after David Raya held the backpass for too long and his shot was blocked by Julian Alvarez. The ball ended up narrowly beside the goal!

A tight battle ensued in the middle, with both teams pressing back aggressively against each other. But no goals were scored in the first half.
Arsenal posed a threat after the restart. Gabriel Jesus' shot greeted the corner kick still ended beside the goal in the 50th minute.
Another chance from the hosts a minute later. Gabriel Martinelli escaped on the left side and fired a direct shot, which Ederson was still able to repel.
Arsenal are trying to increase their pressure. An effort from Martin Odegaard in the 75th minute just bounced away.
Arsenal took the lead in the 87th minute! Thomas Partey's long pass was bounced off Takehiro Tomiyasu to Kai Havertz, who passed the ball to Martinelli. Martinelli fired a fierce shot that hit Ake and outwitted Ederson.
Manchester City tried to catch up the rest of the time. But no other goals were scored.
