The North Macedonia vs England match was held at the Tose Proeski Arena, on Monday (11/20/2023).

England, for the first time since September 2015, did not start Harry Kane in a Euro qualifier.
Ollie Watkins was installed up front along with Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, and Jack Grealish. Rico Lewis made his debut as a national team player before turning 19 years old.

England was dominant with several chances, but none of them found the net against North Macedonia. One of England's best chances of the first half came in the 14th minute.
Declan Rice fired a fierce shot that still hit the post. England, who were preoccupied with attacking, were instead awarded a penalty in the 39th minute following Lewis' foul on Bojan Miovski in an aerial duel.
VAR had time to review the foul before awarding a penalty to the hosts. Jordan Pickford managed to block Enis Bardhi's kick but failed to anticipate the rebound which was grabbed again by Bardhi and became a goal.
North Macedonia led 1-0 at halftime. Entering the second half, England had scored in the 47th minute through Grealish forwarding Saka's pass but was disallowed by VAR for being caught offside.
England then brought on Kane in the 58th minute to replace Watkins. It didn't take long, Kane immediately played a role in the presence of England's goal a minute later.
Foden's ball went to Kane who was ready to greet him in front of goal, but instead hit Jani Atanasov and broke Stole Dimitriesvki's net to make it 1-1.
The goal desperately put England to turn things around, but several attempts to add a goal always failed. The game finally ended with the above score.
With the addition of one point, England remains top of Group C of Euro 2024 Qualifying with 20 points from eight games. They are sure to enter Pot 1 for next year's group stage draw.
England qualified for the finals accompanied by Italy as group runners-up. North Macedonia finished fourth with eight points.
