Nepal's Everest region is more than just climbing and trekking. It was a life-changing experience and some see climbing to the top of Everest as a journey close to Nirvana.
Located in Nepal's northeastern provinces, the region has a world all its own with vast glaciers, ice waterfalls, the highest mountains, deep valleys, dangerous settlements, and resilient communities braving the harshest conditions nature has given them in thin air and plateaus.
Hikers and trekkers continue to travel to Everest Base Camp and it's no surprise that the mountain dubbed the "Roof of the World" continues to be the world's top attraction for seasoned mountaineers, a paradise for mountain enthusiasts and on the bucket lists of adventurers from around the world.
The Everest region is considered key to Earth's evolutionary history and is also home to several rare and endangered species such as snow leopards, red pandas, Himalayan black bears, musk deer, and Himalayan wolves.
