Liverpool threatened again in the 15th minute. Darwin Nunez's close-range shot was blocked by Flekken and only resulted in a corner.
Entering the 22nd minute, Nunez broke Brentford's goal through his pass in the penalty area from Dominik Szoboszlai's pass. The linesman raised the offside flag.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) reviewed Nunez's goal. The result was that the goal remained unrecognized due to the offside of the Uruguayan bomber.
Flekken made a brilliant save in the 26th minute. The Brentford goalkeeper denied Virgil van Dijk's header that had bounced off the ground.
The ball was vomited by Flekken headed by Matip and continued into the goal through Nunez's flip. The linesman again raised the offside flag.

GOAL! Liverpool added a goal 12 minutes later. Diogo Jota's fierce kick rolled into the Brentford goal.
The visitors almost broke Liverpool's goal in the 77th minute. Ethan Pinnock's header from a corner was parried out by Alisson.
Brentford failed to reduce the gap until the long whistle sounded. The game was complete for Liverpool's 3-0 victory.
