"ChatGPT Maker Fired CEO", is hot news right now. How could it not? OpenAI fired Sam Altman from the CEO position and the position was temporarily filled by Mira Murata, who was previously chief technology officer.

In his blog post, the ChatGPT creator will look for someone else to occupy the position left by Altman permanently. OpenAI declined to comment further beyond the post.
Sam Altman Deemed Board of Directors Lacks Ability to Lead OpenAI
"Altman's departure follows a review process by the board of directors, which concluded that he was inconsistent in communicating with the board, thus hampering his ability to perform his responsibilities," OpenAI wrote in an official blog post.
"The board of directors has no confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI."

In addition, OpenAI also said Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of OpenAI, resigned from the position of chairman of the board of directors, although he remained within OpenAI. In his post on X, Brockman said he resigned after hearing "today's news."
"After learning today's news, this is the message I sent to the OpenAI team," Brockman wrote while posting a screenshot of his resignation message to OpenAI.
Before being fired, Altman was raising money to focus on hard tech. But it is not known whether this is the reason for Altman's dismissal, as quoted from The Verge, Saturday (11/18/2023).
"I loved it during my time working at OpenAI. It's transformative for me, and hopefully, it can change the world a little bit. But what I like most is working with talented people," Altman wrote on his X account.
The news of Altman's dismissal is very sudden and interesting because he has always been the face of OpenAI, especially since OpenAI has made AI development very interesting since they released ChatGPT in 2022.
Altman also just opened OpenAI's first DevDay conference, where they announced several major updates to compete with big tech companies like Microsoft and Google.
After this firing, Microsoft - which invested billions of dollars in OpenAI - said it would continue to work with OpenAI. "We have a long partnership with OpenAI and Microsoft will be committed to Mira and her team as we bring this new era of AI to our customers," Microsoft said in a statement.
